Today I’m packing my bags in Texas, saying goodbye to my newest granddaughter, my son-in-love, and my daughter and heading back to Illinois. It’s bittersweet. I’ve loved being here, but I need to head home.
Being gone for two weeks has been the longest I’ve ever been away from home. Last Friday I got a text from my 16-year-old that I’ll keep for forever! It said, “I can’t believe I’m saying this but I miss my mom!” Gotta love that!
I’ve done three giveaways over the past three weeks and I need to announce the winners! Each of you will get an email from me with more info. Here we go:
Finding Balance That Works When Life Doesn’t Book

Congrats to all of you!
Speaking of No More Perfect Moms….I got my manuscript back from the editor yesterday so I’ll be working on edits on my flights home today and on my layover in the Dallas airport! I’m so excited about this book because I believe it is a message every mom needs.
Here’s your No More Perfect Moms quote for you to think about today. I pulled this straight off the pages of the manuscript:
“There are no perfect moms—just imperfect women who will fall off the pedestal of their own expectations more often than they care to admit.”
Have a perfectly imperfect Tuesday!
(I’m not saying this to make you feel worse…just want you to know how important your HAH ministry was to me and how needed it is!) I remember in 2000 when my mom and dad left after a visit over Thanksgiving to see us and our then 3-month old daughter. (I had moved to my husband’s hometown in IL when we got married–14 hours’ drive away from my hometown.) I just burst into tears as they pulled away, thinking, “How am I going to do this “mom thing” without my mom here to help me?” I went to my first HAH conference the following March, and what a blessing it was! Just to see all the other moms in the audience and know I wasn’t alone, and to hear your words of reassurance that I didn’t have to do this “mom thing” alone. Blessings as you continue your journey as a mom, Nana and encourager of moms!
Thank you Shannon! I love hearing that!
