If you live in the USA, I hope you plan to vote today. I am!
If your kids are old enough, today is a great day to talk about what makes America unique. Our ability to vote in a peaceful environment is not something to take granted. The freedom we experience in the United States to “agree to disagree” is something we should value.
If you can take your older kids with you to vote, do so! Take them right into the voting booth with you. Our kids need to be a part of today in any way they can.
Don’t forget that I need your “votes” too! Please take a few minutes to fill out my blog survey and let me know your thoughts about what you read on my blog!
I was just thinking about this today and how if a new president is elected the old one peacefully hands the presidency over. No matter how strongly we disagree with each other (and it feels like a lot of bullets have been flying over this election), in the end the transfer of power takes place peacefully. It is something I take for granted, but it is really somewhat miraculous and a huge blessing!
I agree, Megan. It is a huge blessing and we need to remember that!
