I’m a firm believer in prayer. I’ve seen prayer change a marriage…mine to be specific. I’ve seen prayer change the heart of a wayward teenager. I’ve seen prayer calm an anxious heart. I’ve seen prayer lift the burden of a heavy heart.
There’s nothing fancy about prayer. It’s just talkin’ to God. No perfect conversations, just heartfelt dialogue with God lifting up known needs and listening for His voice either through His word, other people, or that still small voice that whispers truth to our ears.
There’s nothing more precious than a friend who prays for you. I’d like to be that friend today.
How can I pray for you? You can leave it as a comment or email me directly (You can find my email address here.)
It would be my privilege to stand in the gap for you today.
Thank you, Jill. The prayers of a righteous woman are effective. Like everyone else, I have many specific concerns, but the most important of all is this. I would appreciate prayers that my family come to know the Lord Jesus and accept Him as their Savior and the Savior of the world. I have confidence in His word and His promises and cling to that.
Jill,
Thank you for offering prayers on our behalf. I would sincerely appreciate prayer for my finances, my car (specific repairs that I know of: new tires, new brakes, alignment), and my home that is in foreclosure. I am trying very hard not to worry about the HOW these things/bills/ etc are going to get paid/done/etc.
How can we pray for YOU today??
Thank you, Nicci, for asking! TOday you can pray for a looming book deadline that I’m working on. I need set apart time to finish and good time management on my part. Also pray for finances…my husband started a new job and commissions aren’t coming in as fast as we’d like. Thank you!
On it!!
Thank you!
Could use prayers today for ministry finances and also for an emergency eye appointment this afternoon for possible torn/detached retina. God bless you!
Jill,
With out going into detail….A Prayer of Strength for me would be good today. Be the Woman God has called me to be and to be faithful to him. For I know he is my true Groom. Im 36 and a single mom of two a 15 year old daughter, and a 5 year old son. Two different stages in there life. Ive been off and on the road of Christ but try my hardest to do what is right and plant the seeds in others. But yet I feel so weak in my faith and what God is teaching me right now .
Prayers would be great.
Thanks,
Carol Sechrist
I have a two part request.
My 6 year old cousin by marriage Aidan Peterson, who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome on Jan. 18 or simply MDS, it is a rare disease on its own but it is especially rare in children. It is a pre-leukemia and transitions into Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This precious boy is already a survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We were able to find a marrow match for Aidan and he has undergone the transplant. We are in Day +31 post-transplant and it appeared that everything was going fine until Day +28 post-transplant when we found the fever we thought was due to engrafting was also pnemonia. He has been put in ICU in critical but stable condition. If you would like to follow his progress what is going on there is a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OneLovefor80 Please keep Aidan, his family and the medical team.
I personally need prayer for me. I am struggling personally with my personal life. My exhusband passed last October, we were very much still friends and raised our son together. It has been a struggle to adjust to actually being alone and raising a boy. I have been struggling with lonliness and wanting that companionship and someone to lean on and help me. I am just weary and tired.
My husband and I are on month two of trying for baby number 3. Hopeing and praying that this is the month but also knowing God has a perfect plan and timing for everything.
I appreciate your words. I copied what you said about prayer for a quote one day. Please do pray for my healing, blog posts, book sales, and my husband’s possible move to my town.
Thank you for your love for us readers, and for the ministry you are faithful to.
May God richly bless you and yours.
Jean
Thank you, Jill! I never ‘ask’ for prayers, I offer to pray for someone suffering…however, my marriage is crumbling. He is also a Christian, and neither of us wants to break the promise we made to God 16 years ago, however, it continually is a downward spiral. He suffers from social anxiety (will not admit, nor obtain medical help), and doesn’t spend time with his family (we have 3 amazing children). He becomes lonely, i have learned to live like a single mother, and we are both so hurt, we don’t even like each other any more. The prayer should be for him, although living under the same roof, he is missing so much of his childrens’ lives. Thank You, Jill
Pray that my parenting of a teen boy has a good balance, not too strict and not naive.
We have a month and five days till our assisted living runs out; and in that time, we need to find a buyer for our current home and a home that we can afford with the potential of double mortgages for a while. Managing five kids between ten years and five months plus a long distance relationship with 6 hours between my hubby and I is exhausting. Thanks for offering to pray for me! I will be praying for your concerns listed above.
Glad Nicci asked how we could pray for you. Will also lift up your finances and time management – may God grant you those words, His words for your book. We all have so many hurting people around us it seems – His loving Presence and healing touch for their lives. My two oldest “kids” are on a mission trip in Honduras. Pray for that country to be changed, lives and hearts changed for Christ. They joined 1800 missionaries there this week. The government and church leaders are so excited they are there. May God do AMAZING things this week. May His GLORY be revealed to that nation.
Jill, thank you so much for allowing God to give you “time and peace” in your soul to share your insights and wisdom with us, “WOW” women…a.k.a. “Women of Worth!”
It is not my norm to comment on a blog page, even if it has touched me like your “prayer” topic is doing, today! God is so faithful; prayers are answered in His timing, and for this I am so thankful!
For some reason, I feel called to write you; I feel called to thank you for the time you take to share and to ask you to pray for my marriage! You are a “WOW” in my daily quiet times, especially your Monday tidbits on marriage! I believe I am experiencing a bit of what you write about, often, regarding marriage and relationships…after two years of working with my husband to take steps toward being able to build true honesty and emotional intimacy– “into-me-u-c” with me (and me with him), the kind of intimacy God designed for all marriage unions; an intimacy that deepens in marriage instead of staying stagnant–I am left spent and empty. Yesterday was our 23rd wedding anniversary, and although we planned a fun get-a-way to the most beautiful one could enjoy in So Cal, nothing was exuded from him that was “out of the ordinary.” Two years ago, all the nagging feelings of distrust I had over so many of his actions in the first 21 years of our marriage came to light (…he was found to have been developing internet relationships and an attraction toward a younger woman at his workplace, relationship(s) which he called “fantasies and emotional”, saying “…nothing physical has ever happened with any other woman but me…” ). Long story short, as much as I work through the painful process of trying to forgive/forget, rebuild, educate, grow, and especially pray for God’s protection over my husband as he begins to recognize wounds from his childhood (How We Love by Milan & Kay Yerkovich); simply reunite with my husband in a way God would be proud of, I have days like today where I feel completely sad and empty, especially when I hope for so much more in our marriage….I could write on and on, but my prayer would be for you to please pray for marriages, specifically in mine that my husband’s words of “I love you” would begin to show “I love you” with the way he communicates through actions.
We have been reading numerous books, together… His Needs, Her Needs, 5 Love Languages, How We Love, 4 Seasons of Marriage, Beyond Ordinary, and so many more…attended marriage intensive retreats through New Life Ministry, Hume Lake, and our sweet local church–presently working through a wonderful online, weekly Mentor Us marriage devotional from http://www.refineus.org, etc. My biggest prayer is that God would give me wisdom for what more I can do? I am empty, today, as I believe we follow ALL the strategies and encouragements of so many wonderful authors, Pastors, counselors, and more…quantity time/quality time of listening, asking open-ended questions, etc. I just don’t know what is nagging me and why I am feeling this way, on and off, but today, especially…please pray. I can’t imagine our Heavenly Father wants us women to feel this way for too long in our marriage…. Your wisdom and earthly light on this topic would be greatly appreciated! Blessings to you and your family, Jill.
K,
You & your husband are in my prayers! Praying for restoration, peace of mind for you, unity & praying a hedge of protection around your marriage! One thing I’ve learned is to not make a decision based off your emotions. One book I would recommend is by Stormie Omartian ‘The Power of a Praying Wife’. That book has helped me numerious times! You are planting seeds & watering those seeds just be patient for the harvest. There is your timing & Gods timing. Ecclesiastes 3:1 ‘To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.’ Praying for you!
We are hoping to adopt a sibling group of 5 (we currently have 3 children) and we are trying to sell our home. We’d appreciate prayers that both of these processes would go quickly and smoothly. 🙂
My husband and I have been working with our youth group since winter. There is a student that is known for negative gossip and slander. Despite that we’ve hired him to work in our office. Unfortunately, he’s gossiping and saying negative things regarding my business partner and husband. As a youth leader, owner of the practice and wife I know that it is my responsibility to address it. He is coming in at 2 today and I am going to do it then. I need prayer to say the right thing and reveal what this is doing to the church and his relationships. I want my words to be a light but also to be TRUTH.

Please pray for Liz Rossen, a classmate of my 17 yr. old daughter’s, who will be undergoing brain surgery this week for a brain tumor.Thank you so much!
So thankful for your blog. There are days I get to read it & days I get so swamped that I don’t but so thankful for women out there that take the time to minister to the hearts of many. My prayer request is for my mom, Reva Canfield. She had double bypass surgery on the 4th of July. She was a extremely high risk patient due to all her medical issues (one of them being her kidneys, stage 4 renal failure). She made it thru miraculously, they threatened 24 hr dialysis on the 6th but w/tons of prayer & dr’s wisdom her kidneys kick started & started working again. Was released to a rehab center on the 11th only to be put back in the hospital on the 13th due to low blood pressure & her heart being in defib. They are now concerned about her kidneys again, she has a UTI 🙁 they changed up her meds & now the antibiotics they are giving her are making her severely nauseous. She had the ‘fighting’ spirit before the surgery & when she was released on the 11th but has gotten discouraged since she was readmitted. Praying for renewed strength, hope & healing in her body. I know we serve a God who can do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we can ask, think or imagine.
Please pray for my health.
I could certainly use the prayers as I am preparing to return to teaching high school Spanish after a three year hiatus… I’ve taught back in Illinois for 13 years but since moving to southern Louisiana, I have only taught for four months back in late 2011. This will be my first time addressing students in a non-public school system and although I’m very excited about teaching in a Baptist Christian atmosphere, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by all the details involved in preparing for a new school year. Thanks so much for the prayers! May God continue to bless you, your family, and your ministry as you seek to touch the lives of women around the world! Much love to you and yours 🙂
Please pray for my marriage . We’ve been married 22yrs and it has been a struggle from the very beginning. Over the years I have felt used overlooked disregarded unknown unimportant and betrayed. There have been huge financial issues and pornography. I really don’t have any feelings left for him other than mistrust and wishing that he would go away. I want to forgive but don’t really know where to start other than prayer and I do pray that God will change me and thatI will be able to forgive him almost everyday but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Please pray that GOd would show me clearly what to do and that he would give me what I need to preservere.

Praise The Lord for all of the blessings He bestows upon me and my family… Prayer request is for my friend… Evie. Unspoken… Praying that she will grow even closer to God in this season of heartbreak and disappointment. That she and her husband will feel the comfort of His presence. Thanks, Jill.

Praying.
Please pray for my son Russell that he would receive the anointing of the holy spirit with wisdom, knowledge and discernment to make good Godly decisions. Pray that he give his life to the Lord and repent of his sins and be the man and father that the Lord created him to be. In Jesus Name Amen
I am praying Angela.
Almighty Father God we have sinned against you and deserve the just punishment for our sins individually and as a nation. We have rejected you in every possible way, but because of your great Love that endures forever. We cry out for your mercy and grace for us, our families and this nation. You said in your word that if we pray to you and repent and turn from the evil we have been doing then you would hear from heaven and forgive our sins. We pray that you would soften our hearts that we would return to the fear of the Lord with humility. Heal our reprobate minds and seared conscience. Help us to rend our hearts with Godly sorrow for our sin in true repentance before you. Open the eyes of our understanding and enlighten us with your knowledge. Write your laws on our hearts so that we don’t sin against you. Give us a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Fill us with your holy spirit. Lord have mercy on this generation. We pray for revival and that America would be allowed to fulfil its destiny. We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over us, our families and this nation. We pray for the peace of Israel and those effected by war, plagues and famine. In Jesus Christ Name Amen
Please pray in agreement with me: Dear Heavenly Father we thank you in advance for hearing and answering this prayer. We pray that all Americans be drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ to receive salvation in him alone. We pray that people will read and study the Bible and meditate on the Word of God to abide in your word. We pray for repentance and revival for personal relationships with Jesus to be established and strengthened. We pray that America repents of homosexuality, lesbianism, idolotry, witchcraft, sorcery, materialism, sexual immorality, murders, hatred, antichrist, false religion and open rebellion toward God. We pray for restoration of our families and our country. WE ask Lord for extraordinary miracles in America! We ask God to bring an end to witchcraft, sorcery, idolatry,,murders, antichrist spirit, jezebel spirit, all evil spirits, violence, godlessness and hatred. We pray for deliverance of those who are in bondage to drugs, alcohol and other addictions. We pray also for deliverance of those in sexual immorality that they would be healed and set free. We pray for those who are caught up in lies and deceptions, that their eyes would be open and they would know the salvation and blessings of God. We pray that healing and hope is restored to the homeless, sick, hurting and desperate people in our land. We pray that people would have a true revelation of Jesus Christ, be cleansed, filled with the holy spirit, freed, and rejoice in the salvation of God. We pray for the leaders of America and the church that God forgives the sins of our land, people and leaders. We pray that our leaders would have a hunger and thirst for righteousness and wisdom of Almighty God and His anointing. We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ would give us wisdom knowledge and discernment to make good godly decisions to be men and women after his own heart. We pray that the Lord Jesus would direct us toward the things He has planned for our lives and not our own will. We ask Almighty God for you to pour your Holy Spirit upon America, and to make your ways, power, and healing known to all. Praise God, Who makes all things possible to those who believe. We thank God he alone deserves glory, honor, and praise be given to Him forever. We pray that the name of Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, be celebrated throughout America. We pray for the peace of Israel In Jesus Christ Name Amen
