Dear Jill,
Have you read anything good lately or have you been too busy writing and speaking?
Robin
Dear Robin,
I have still been reading! It seems that I always have a book or two or three going! I just finished Karen Kingsbury’s book, The Chance. I love to read fiction whenever I can!
I’m currently reading Jen Hatmaker’s book, Seven, and it is really challenging me to a new level of simplicity. I also just started reading a book by John Bevere called Bait of Satan. It is very convicting and very freeing.
I’m re-reading the book The God-Empowered Wife by Karen Haught and Mark and I are still reading…again…How We Love by Milan and Kay Yerkovich. Both of these books have been transforming for our marriage.
I recommend all of these!
What about you? What are you reading right now?
Awesome list. I am going to look into the marriage books. Right now, I am reading “The Last Runaway” by Tracy Chevalier. (She also wrote the Girl with a Pearl Earring). And, I need to start reading “No More Perfect Moms” 😉 Always love to see what others are reading.
I am reading “Journey to the Fatherless” by Lawrence Bergeron. I just finished “Cleaning House” by Kay Wills Wyma. LOVED IT!! I will be writing a review about it and posting it on my blogsite within the next week. I highly recommend the book.
I’ve heard Seven is good. I will have to add it to my “to read” list.
I just finished The Passionate Mom by Susan Merrill and highly recommend it. I’m actually giving away a copy on my blog tomorrow! 🙂
Thank you for the list, Jill. I am currently reading The Husband Project by Kathi Lipp, and Reshaping It All by Candace Cameron Bure and loving both of them!!
I am reading No More Perfect Moms (getting ready for the facebook study) and also just started reading “Soulshift” by Steve DeNeff and David Drury
Ooooo…I love the title of “Soulshift”! I may have to check that one out!
I’m reading No More Perfect Moms! It’s is so very encouraging! Thank you, Jill! I highly recommend it. I’m also reading Praying Circles Around Your Children by Mark Batterson. That is also really, really good!
Love hearing that Amanda!
I have been reading The Power of the Praying Wife and Quiet.
I have been reading “No More Perfect Moms”, “Not a Fan.” by Kyle Idleman, and I just purchased “Out of the Spin Cycle: Devotions to Lighten Your Motherload” by Jen Hatmaker! Jen was the speaker at a women’s conference I attended over the weekend (www.lightbearersconference.com) and I absolutely loved her! She talked about ‘Belong. Believe. Behave.’ and I had just read your blog post about that a couple days before! She is great and I really want to get “7”! She sold out of it at the conference, but it is on my list!!
Kirsten, we have considered Jen for a Hearts at Home speaker. I’m so glad to hear that you loved her! A friend just told me about “Not a Fan” and I’m planning on reading it!
Last week I finished “Stressed-Less Living” by Tracie Miles. I am just now finishing up Jill’s “No More Perfect Moms”! Loved them both! 🙂 I also enjoy Debbie Macomber Blossom Street series. I have to admit too that I really enjoy Junie B. Jones and Fancy Nancy books which my 8 year old daughter and I read together!!
I’m reading “Six Ways To Keep the “Good” In Your Boy – Guiding Your Son from His Tweens to His Teens” by Dannah Gresh. Can’t believe I’m reading books about parenting tweens–where did 11 years go???
