Once a month, Hearts at Home sponsors a blog hop where you can “hop” around to different mom blogs and glean wisdom from other moms.  Today we’ve asked our moms to share their favorite fall recipe.

A favorite fall recipe for the Savage family is Persimmon Pudding.  I’m not going to share the recipe today because persimmons aren’t found everywhere.  But I’m curious if your family enjoys persimmon pudding.  Are there any persimmon pudding fans out there besides me?

Last year my friend, Tammy Maltby turned me on to the most incredible Pumpkin Cookie recipe. These are absolutely delicious and they are my new favorite fall cookie!

Here’s the recipe, right off Tammy’s website (I omit the orange rind just because we never have it on hand!)

PUMPKIN COOKIES WITH CREAM CHEESE
FROSTING
COOKIES:
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. pumpkin
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tea nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
FROSTING:
1 tea vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
3 tbsp cream cheese
1-2 tbls cream (or milk)
3 tablespoons of grated orange rind

Cream shortening, sugar, and pumpkin. Add egg and vanilla mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Drop from spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.Beat frosting ingredients until smooth. Frost cookies after they have cooled.

Makes 48 cookies.

Don’t forget to check out the other moms’ recipes in the hop! (If you received this via email, you’ll find the other blog links here.)

So what’s your favorite fall recipe?
